Folk Music and Song Sessions How They Work:

We start gathering from 7:30 pm and are generally playing and singing before 8:00 so dont panic about getting there 'on time'. We sit around a few tables in the pubs and take turns to start a song or tune and others join in as willing and able, at the beginning we decide if we are going clockwise or anticlockwise around the room for our turns. There is absolutely no pressure. As far as we are concerned, if Folk are singing it in the pub it's Folk Music.

If you have come to listen we give you the opportunity to request a song or tune, but there is no guarantee that we can manage to pull it off!

Please feel free to try a song or tune, but be aware that if it's something we are not likely to know, you need to be able to carry it off on your own. If you start on Wild Rover, we will all be joining in before you get to the second line.

There is always banter between tunes and songs but if there are big numbers of us we need to keep moving so that everyone gets enough turns to start and lead.

We do have the use of a house guitar in each of the pubs if someone happens to drop in on us.

Use the form on the contacts page for any questions.

We have no committee, constitution, bank account, cash, or assets, so we don't legally exist! So we are just a bunch of individuals who play music together in pubs.
